About the town
Talgarth's landmark is its Grade II listed Town Hall on The Bank, built in 1878 as a combined town hall and market house — designed by Thomas Lawrence Lewis of Swansea and built by James Webb of Hay-on-Wye. The town council meets in the Town Hall Committee Room. Talgarth sits within the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, and the council works closely with the National Park Authority and Powys County Council on matters affecting the town and neighbouring Trefeca.
